Coming from central Florida in the United States, TRIVIUM took shape in 2000 and, from one moment to the next, caught the wave generated by the burial of the nu-metal and consequent blooming of the metalcore phenomenon, beginning to generate a buzz in the headbanger community of Orlando. From a buzz to the roar, the project began to get noticed in the underground and, with the social networks to serve as tools to spread their sound, launched its curious mixture of metalcore, thrash and progressive metal beyond borders. They soon signed a contract with the German label Lifeforce, which released «Ember To Inferno», the much-applauded debut album of the group conceived by young vocalist and guitarist Matt Heafy, in October 2003. Backed by the enormous technical and compositional talent of its strategist, in a world post-success of «Alive Or Just Breathing», were quickly "grabbed" by Roadrunner Records in a move that would indelibly mark the growth they experienced in the years to come. With the stabilized line-up, based on Heafy, Travis Smith on drums, Paolo Gregoletto on bass and Corey Beaulieu on the second guitar, they released «Ascendancy» in March 2005 and jumped from the top of MySpace players to the covers of magazines like Metal Hammer and Kerrang!, in an increase of exposure which allowed them to begin to outline the ascending route that nowadays allows to see them as the standard bearer of the contemporary metal produced on the other side of the Atlantic. Supported on following titles «The Crusade» (2006), «Shogun» (2008), «In Waves» (2011) and «Vengeance Falls» (2013), they spent the last decade playing for vast audiences next to "icons" like Iron Maiden, Metallica, Machine Head and even Cannibal Corpse, to climb the sales charts, to establish an increasingly own sound and, in short, to establish their reputation as one of the most brilliant and successful proposals of their generation. With more than one million albums sold worldwide, the last studio album by the American quintet, which has Mad Madiro sitting behind the drums, is called «Silence In The Snow», was released in October of 2015 and proves once more that with one foot in the old school and another very firm in the present of the heavy metal, there is no one to meet them when speaking of modern metal, true to the roots and with both staccato and melodic.
